How many pregnancy tests did you take before it became positive? How far along were you?

Q. I took a couple pregnancy tests already a week or so ago but they were negative but I have all the classic signs of pregnancy. Just wondering how far along you were and simply out of curiousity how many tests you took. I would be about 4 weeks according to an online pregnancy calculator

A. Most at home pregnancy tests will not give an accurate reading until your missed period, unless you get the "first response" test, which tells you a few days before. I took one at about 4 weeks that was negative, and thought "oh well I must just be going crazy cuz i'm not pregnant". Then at 6 weeks I took one that was positive, and again the next day, then went to the doctor and it was confirmed. So it is possible that it is too soon to tell. I would wait another week or so, or until your period is suppose to come. By that point you should get an accurate reading. If you still don't get your period and are still concerned about pregnancy, you can go to the doctor and have them do a blood test. I have known women who were pregnant but their at home tests came up negative. It is not common, but it is possible.

Why do most pregnancy calculators seem to put me a week further than I am?
Q. My last mestrual period was on March 17th. It lasts about 8 days so I'm assuming at EARLIEST I conceived around March 24th, though probably later. But even counting week by week on the calendar from March 24th it puts me at about 11weeks2days. But most pregnancy calculators I use online put me at 12weeks2days, why is that???

A. Pregnancy is not counted from conception. Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your period. So the first day of pregnancy for you is March 17th. According to that you are due Dec 22.

Why do they say pregnancy is NINE months?
Q. I've always been told that pregnancy lasts nine months, but with so many of my friends pregnant, they're using pregnancy calculators on facebook and it says pregnancy lasts 40 weeks, which is TEN months! What the heck? If that's right, then why have we always been told nine months? Why is it in the media? Why do they name fricken MOVIES after nine-month pregnancies just to confuse the crap out of us?

An explanation would be great, because everything I thought I knew about being pregnant is probably wrong. Thanks.

A. Well it's 9 months because months have more than 4 weeks the average is 4 weeks 3 days (4.33).
If you divide that by 40 you get 9.2 which would be 9 months 2 weeks but did you know the first 2 weeks of pregnancy you are actually not pregnant? But because doctors don't know the exact day that conception happen they start to count from your LMP.
Confusing right? But that is how it works.

What is the likelihood that I am pregnant?
Q. It has been 37 days since the start of my last period. I had sex several times right around the time a pregnancy calculator says I probably would have conceived. I am waiting to take a test till next week. I have had nausea and several symptoms of early pregnancy...I have a lot going on in life and have been under stress, but I have always had regular 24-26 day cycles. What is the likelihood that I am pregnant?
I know stress can cause lack of a period...so I was wondering if that could be what is going on?

A. i would say you are pregnant you can test now because if you are it will come out positive since you are many days late i wish you good luck......
