Why does it mean when a pregnancy test shows positive then negative?

Q. Well my wife and I have been trying to get pregnant and it has been almost 3 months since her last period and all the symptoms have been applied along with movement in her stomach. We recently got a "One Step Pregnancy Test" from CVS and the test started to show positive and then went to negative. I have been getting a lot of people telling me that she is pregnant, what do you think?

A. it seems she is pregnant, but she should try another test to make sure

Clearblue Digital or One Step Pregnancy Test Strip?
Q. Which one do you think is more reliable?

Has anyone used the One Step pregnancy test? If so, was it the early testing one (10miu) and how early did you get a positive ?

A. clearblue

Would a home pregnancy test be accurate for me right now?
Q. I would be 7 weeks.
which do you recommend?
Clearblue Easy Results or store brand Walgreen's one-step pregnancy test?

A. at this point, purchase the cheaper one because you will likely have enough HCG in your system at 7 weeks for the cheapest, least sensitive test to work. If you were testing at 4 weeks, I would recommend First response (not the digital one).

What are the priniciples of procedure of a Pregnancy Test?
Q. I need to know what the prinicples of procedure are of an MDS QuickCard hCG One-Step Pregnancy test...

I need this put into simpler language I can understand. : The test employs the basic immunochemical sandwich assay principle, relying on the recognition and formation of specific antibody / hCG / antibody complexes. C

Can someone explain how this procedure works in relatively simple language but scientificly.

10 points for a sensible answer please

Thank you
How does the test work exactly?

A. Pregnant women make the hormone hCG. The test checks for hCG. If you have it in your system, you're preggo. If you don't, you're probably not.
