What pregnancy book would you like to see?

Q. If you had some input, what sort of pregnancy book would you like to be available? Would it be a book on labor affirmations? Would it be a book about how to cope with pregnancy discomforts? What would it be?

Mainstream pregnancy books can offer some wonderful advice. But, what is it you would like to read that is not currently available?

A. What a great question! Honestly, I'd like a book geared towards women who live in rural or remote areas. I'm currently pregnant with my first child and living in my hometown, which is located in northern Canada (the Arctic for lack of a better term). Every pregnancy book I've read gives great emphasis to the importance of choice; choosing a good doctor or midwife, writing a birth plan and picking a great prenatal class. For women who don't have these options, being reminded that you don't have them is incredibly frustrating! I would love to have the services of a great and experienced midwife, write an extensive birth plan and attend a Bradley Method birth class. Unfortunately, I live in a place where I will have absolutely no control over who delivers my child (whomever's on call, just like nearly every other woman up here), have no choice over my delivery and labour and have only one option for a prenatal class. A book that provided information and support for women despite and because of their lack of control over these choices would be a God send for so many women who don't have them!

Where can you find online pregnancy books?
Q. I was just curious if you could find pregnancy books online to read and if so where?

A. I wouldn't rely on things online when it comes to pregnancy. I would go and buy a published book because the information is more likely to have reliable Information. I have the girlfriends guide to pregnancy book, and I LOVE IT. it tells home remedies, and things that the doc does not specify in it, and how to cope with the changes... Highly recommended!

Please give me names of pregnancy books for first-time parents ?
Q. Hi, we are going to be first-time parents soon and i would like names of pregnancy books using simple language (not too many medical terms) to guide us about issues relating to pregnancy and care. Please help.

A. The best book is " Your Pregnancy Week by Week" This book is amazing. I also bought " What to Expect When Expecting" and don't even read it. The week by week book is so amazing I highly recommend it
