Has anyone ever had their doctor scold them because they were only drinking three cups of milk per day?

Q. My pregnancy diet calls for a quart of milk per day. It takes careful attention to be sure to get that much.

A. When my midwife looked at my diet which included a bowl or cereal w/milk, yogurt, some cheese and a pint of milk she thought I had a lot of milk for a day. There was nothing wrong with it, of course, but she thought I didn't need the pint of milk since there was a lot of calcium in my other foods (dark greens in there as well). But, your doctor knows what your body needs and everyone is different. So, if your Dr says a quart, try to get a quart in. But you can get your calcium and Vit D in other foods too.

When you were pregnant, did you make certain to eat liver once per week?
Q. My pregnancy diet said to eat liver once per week and my doctor agreed. Did the rest of you deliberately include liver in your diet?

A. You are not advised to eat liver nowadays while pregnant, especially in the early stages of the babies development, due to it containing high levels of vitamin A.

Is there such thing as too much nutrition?
Q. Im trying to stick to the "pregnancy diet" but i dont have time to really write down my servings. Can i get too much of something? Like for example can i have too much calcium?

A. Of course you can have "too much nutrition". Have too much potassium, and it feels like you're having a heart-attack.
You have to be careful to eat in MODERATION.

Is it safe to eat tiny pieces of glass while pregnant.?
Q. Before you get on my case hear me out with an open mind. I'm trying to get in the Guinness World Record book for World's strangest pregnancy diet so I want to break down glass into really small pieces so that they won't cut my throat or stomach. I'm mainly concerned with the chemical properties of glass that might effect my baby's development. I'm in my third trimester if that makes any difference. Also I get disqualified if my baby is born with any noticeable birth defects or if I have a miscarriage.

A. Sure it is safe! Just as safe drinking a gallon of gasoline and following that up by smoking a cigarette!
