Q. i KNOW that pregnancy can cause this, I am trying to find out if anything else can cause it.
i have never had that bad of a gag reflex when it comes to disgusting sights or smells in the past and over the last few weeks i have started to gag very quickly at the slightest bad smell. something as simple as getting pieces of food out of the drain in the sink from doing dishes will even make me gag now

A. Here's the problem, you probably know things that you have not mentioned in this question. There may be other symptoms which are related to the answer although these symptoms seem to be totally unrelated.
Here is one symptom checker which will allow you to match them up with gag reflex.

If you are looking to stop this reflex - and many of us feel that way when we have to clean the sink drain strainer every day, you can quickly press and release on the soft are of your neck just above the breastbone. You are then activating this pressure point and if done properly, should help to control what you are feeling when you see and smell that mess.
But that is not the answer to you question about why this can suddenly occur when you are not pregnant. I think you have the key to finding your answer at the link above.
Is there anything else that is troubling you? It could be as simple as a change of other things n your life which are making you more sensitive to certain unpleasant things. It is possible that you feel more vulnerable to the outside world and so are reacting to these outside stimuli through sight and smell. Again, only you will know the answer.
Addendum: have you recently had a cough or cold?

Showing signs of pregnancy even though I'm a virgin?
Q. I've missed four periods.
I have sore nipples (not the breast)
I have weird food cravings.
I feel the need to pee all of the time.
I'm tired all of the time, even though I get nine hours of sleep a night.
I have terrible headaches, vomiting, stomach ache.
I am positively CERTAIN that I'm a virgin.
Why is this all happening?
I've also had a regular period for two years +.

A. WebMD's symptom checker offered a handful of suggestions that match up with most of your symptoms... including "eating disorder". In reviewing your past questions on Yahoo, it appears that you've recently struggled with bulemia. Looks to me anyway, that you've still got some lingering issues with this, and I would recommend that you see your family doctor at your earliest convenience.
I have a question about menstruating for over 5 weeks.?
Q. I have been menstruating for over 5 five weeks now and I have abdominal pain along with severe gas pain. I can not figure out for the life of me what is the problem. I am 34 years old and have 3 kids. I have never taken birth control. I have used the morning after pill twice in the last 6 months and sex is painful.
A. I agree that seeing your physician is your best bet. If you are not covered under health insurance you could go to your nearest public health and be seen there for free. Other than that there is a whole list that could be the possible problem.
Constipation
Gas pains
IBS irital bowel syndrome
Yeast infection
Lactose intolerance
PID pelvic inflammatory disease
Candidasis
Cervicitis
Dyspareunia
Ectopic pregnancy
Endometriosis
Giardiasis
Interstitial cystitis
Prolapsed uterus/bladder
Urethritis
Vaginitis
Vulvodynia
Those are all found under WEBMD symptoms checker. But to be certain of what the problem is a health check up is most reliable. I hope this gives you options.

A. Wow! My daughter did the sam thing and thought she was also pregnant - all of her over the counter urine test came back negative- she went to the OB/GYNE are then had a bacterial infection - she was treated and (THIS IS VERY Important) her partner was also treated. However, you may have a thyroid disorder - type in hypothyroidism and check out the symptoms - Or you can go to Web.MD.com and click on symptoms checker.
