When do you know you're ready to lose your virginity?

Q. I'm 16, been with my boyfriend 10 months and love him to pieces. We've spoken about sex, and he says he'll wait however long it takes me to be ready, so theres no pressure. I think i'm ready but I'm a bit worried about pregnancy and/or parents finding out. To be sure I know when I'm ready, any suggestions on how you know you're ready to lose your virginity?

A. When you are capable to deal with the "consequences" of having sex, that's when you're ready.

Ask yourself these questions;
Are you on birth control?
Will he use a condom? Just because he says he's protected doesn't mean accidents won't happen!
Is he a virgin/does he have any STDs?
What will my parents think if I go behind their back and have sex?

If you do end up pregnant - do you have the financial and emotional stability to care for the child?

Take a look at this website; it has very good "Are you ready" information and a lot of details explaining things.
There is even a "checklist" at the bottom. It might help.

If you decide to "do it", be safe about it.
If you decide to wait - your boyfriend is very respectful in not pressuring you, so no worries in rushing into it - that's the kind of guy you keep!

How long after you have sex can you get pregnant ?
Q. && what is a list of checklist of pregnancy symptoms?

A. Ok so here is how it works. We ovulate at some point in the month. Each of us at different times and we can ovulate each month on a different day. When we do drop that egg we are fertile meaning able to conceive usually within a 12-24 hour window. However, sometimes we will release a second egg and that will be the next 12-24 hours and it lasts the same amount of time. That is how long the egg is good or viable. The next thing though is that sperm can live inside for up to 5 days waiting for the egg! So you could actually have some waiting around then when you do ovulate that egg gets fertilized. That is why we are fertile 4 days prior to ovulation, the day of and the day after.

Another thing to know is that it takes about 6-12 days for the fertilized egg (baby) to travel up the fallopian tube and implant into the uterine lining. That is where they baby will grow. Then another few days for your body to produce enough of the pregnancy hormone hCG to be detected on a home urine test. Some more sensitive ones will pick it up sooner but you have to use your urine as soon as you wake and without having anything to eat or drink. Don't dilute the sample.

AS for symptoms, most don't start or truly start until you are about 6 weeks. I personally had really sore and larger breasts, dizziness, and felt sick or nauseous before I even got my positive. Some women have a stronger sense of smell and fatigue as well. Those are the more common ones. The thing is that you can't go by symptoms alone. I've had every one and missed my period and still not been pregnant lol. Your body can really play tricks on ya. My advise is if you are worried about it, wait until you miss your period. Though it can be delayed due to later ovuation or stress. Then get a Dollar Tree test or head to the doc and test. Use your first morning urine or don't drink any thing. Read the results in the first 3 min and wait no longer than 10.

Best of luck and blessings :)
