What kind of doctor needs to do pregnancy test?

Q. After realizing I was a little late for my period, I took two different pregnancy tests (different brands) last night and both were positive!
Now my question is, what kind of doctor do I call to do the "official" test? Do I need to go to an ob/gyn for this? I think it might take a couple of weeks to get in, and I don't think I can wait that long! Can I just go to a walk-in clinic or a general family doctor?

A. You need to go to an OB/GYN for a follow up test, he/she will perform an ultrasound to make sure :
1. if there is indeed a gestational sack.
2. if the gestational sack is located properly in the uterus wall.
3. the age of the pregnancy.

Why does it take so long to meet an OB/GYN?
For this first appointment, u should just go see any available obstetrician, its just to make sure your pregnancy and what you should do with it.

How to avoid a miscarriage in first trimester?
Q. In the first trimester of the pregnancy what are some very easy ways of getting a miscarrage that a woman should be very careful to avoid.it could be possible that im pregnant im not sure yet but i want to be careful just incase i am.its my first so please help.what are very easy ways i should atch out for.and wht are the risks?please help!

A. Seriously Mrs.Trena I think you misunderstood Aussies answer, Most of those foods that he/she stated can cause Listeria poisoning which can in fact kill your baby!

Here is a list of foods that cause listeria
Soft white cheeses eg. Ricotta, brie, camembert, blue vein and fetta
Pate
Unpasteurized dairy products
Cold meats
Dried/fermented sausages
Raw sea foods eg. Oysters, sashimi
Smoked seafood (canned is okay)
Pre packed and prepared salads
Soft serve ice-cream

Things like freshly cooked seafood are fine in moderation be careful with shell seafood (prawns, mussels, crayfish, lobster, as if they are not cooked properly they can cause horrible food poisoning which CAN cause spontaneous abortions and miscarriages)

Caffeine is fine in moderation you are allowed 200mg per day, roughly 1 cup of instant coffee contains 100 mg. Guarana drinks may not cause miscarriage but are not healthy for your baby. Avoid smoking and drinking but not because these definitely cause miscarriage but because they are not ok for your babies health.

Make sure your vaccinations are up to date, make sure all food that you eat is freshly cooked and heated thoroughly, make sure you practice good hygeine when cooking. Also fetal abnormalities and genetic problems are not the only reason for miscarriages, the asker of this question should know which foods to avoid and why. Good luck

Does putting apple juice on a pregnancy test turn it positive?
Q. Someone told me that if you put a pregnancy test in apple juice it will turn positive. Is that true?
The reason that it comes out positive is that pregnancy tests check for HCG which is found in apples and apple juice?

A. No the only way a pregnancy test will become positive is if hCG hormones are registered in urine or in some other form or fashion but the hormone has to be there and to my knowledge apple juice does not have hCG in it.

But on youtube there is a video of it happening I am unsure if this is true or not but is funny

I also found this:

BUT I am unsure if it can really happen as I have not tried it so you should try if your that curious.

How does cervical fluid appear if I do become pregnant?
Q. I am trying to get pregnant for the last year but have not been sucessful. I am trying to see how my fluid should look like after ovulation and if I was pregnant. Also the last three cycles have been long. They have been 40-44 days apart, so am I not ovulating? Are there any other signs to see if I am not ovulating?
