what is the normal duration of pregnancy from start to the end?

Q. According to the information I have got the normal duration for pregnancy period is 38 weeks, but if the baby is born during week 35 to week 41 of pregnancy, then will it be a normal childbirth?

A. 38 weeks not counting your 2 weeks of "period" that they count which is confusing as all get out. However a baby becomes "full-term" at 36 weeks and can be born anytime from 36-42 weeks and be considered fullterm, if you go into labor at 36.4 your baby will be full term, you wont be considered preterm labor if you dont make it all the way to 40 weeks, 40 is a guideline, that little one will be here when its done cooking :) Also remember a baby is fully developed at 32 weeks, those extra 4 weeks are to help them put on extra weight and mature their lungs a bit more, but a baby born at 32 weeks on has a very high chance of survival :)

How is a lighter period as opposed to a normal one?
Q. Does it last as long as your normal period but less blood. because i seem to have gotten my period but its really light sometimes theres blood but it looks like its mixed with water not bright red, sometimes its just pink and brown stuff and sometimes it stops alltogether for a little while. Could this be a normal period or a pregnancy period?

A. Bleeding that is caused by implantation generally occurs a few days before the woman should start her period. In other cases, the bleeding may not begin until the woman should have started her menstrual cycle.

Implantation bleeding is generally very light pink or brown in color. Occasionally, there may be a few brighter red specks, but for the most part, this bleeding looks like "old" or "faded" blood. Clots are not usually passed during implantation bleeding.

Implantation bleeding is generally quite scant. Most women use only a panty liner for several hours and find that it is more than adequate to meet their needs.

Implantation bleeding lasts from 1 to 3 days. It may appear on day 1, 3 and even 5, but rarely extends beyond that.

In early pregnancy can you start having symptoms and then they stop?
Q. I started having what I thought to be implantation cramping on 6 days past ovulation. (Had sex with hubby 4 days before ovulation.) I had more symptoms the following 3 days including: a few hot flashes, feeling hungry and sick at the same time (happened once or twice), and very sleepy a couple of times.

Yesterday nothing out of the ordinary except I just felt a little different and today nothing at all.

I didn't know if this is normal during early pregnancy. Period is due on the 26th. Does it even sound like I could be pregnant?

A. Yes, I took an early home pregnancy test because i had symptoms that were coming and going for a couple days... The first test came out negative and the second came out positive. I found out I was pregnant before I even missed my period.
There are early tests that can let you know 4-5 days before you even miss your period. I would buy one that has two tests in it so you can do one maybe tomorrow then two days later.

Have a good day.............

Is it legal to ask about sex determination from doctor during pregnancy in Canada?
Q. I want to know whether it is legal to ask about sex determination during pregnancy period especially when you go for check upslike ultrasound at health centres in canada.

A. Yep, people ask all the time and if the doctor knows they will tell you. I'd hate to think though that you may abuse that info though.
