6 months pregnant and had my first and only catibou coffee is it safe ?

Q. Today I had a DECAF small turtle mocha cooler. I haven't had caffeine or coffee my whole pregnancy. Is it okay and healthy that I had this one cup ?! I don't plan to get it again until after the baby but just making sure ?

A. It was decaffeinated you're fine sister :)

Is it ok to have decaf coffee during pregnancy?
Q. I know that caffeine in moderation is ok, but what about decaf? I was craving coffee earlier and had two small cups of decaf. I'm not an avid coffee drinker like I used to be years ago, but I just had to have it.
Or at least I think I did. I brewed 4 cups of coffee. I drank out of a 2 cup mug, but did not fill it all the way or even half of the way. The coffee pot set for hours with the coffee maker still turned on. My husband went to pour him some and there was only enough for half a glass!! Is it possible some of it evaporated or did I really drink that much coffee?!?!

Now I am worried, I don't usually consume caffeinated drinks.

A. Decaf has only 5 mg of caffeine in it per 8 oz serving, compared to nearly 20 times that in a regular cup!

Don't worry about a one time slip-up. Just try to stay away from highly caffeinated beverages for your baby's sake. Try to stick to the water more, and if you need coffee stick to the decaf.

Before I got pregnant, I would drink diet soda like it was going out of style. I quit cold turkey and am at ease with the decision. Good luck with your pregnancy! :)

Is there scientific evidence that caffeine intake can negatively affect an unborn baby during pregnancy?
Q. I am a coffee addicct!!! I have dramatically decrease my coffee intake to about 1 1/2 to 2 cups of coffee a day.....I know that they say you shouldn't drink a lot of coffee during pregnancy...but what are the effects of drinking too much coffee?? are there any proven defects??

A. I for other reason still drink coffee. (it eases the constipation) I asked the doctor because I too heard that we should avoid caffeine. He told me that the reason they want pregnant women to avoid it is because it can cause dehydration, not defects. he told me for every cup I drink to make sure I drink at least 2 cups of water. So every morning i drink a 12oz cappuccino and and get a liter of water and drink that as will on top of my regular water intake. Just make sure you stay extra hydrated to avoid the dehydration from the coffee. You will be okay!!!

Will drinking coffee cause me to get contractions?
Q. Im 40 weeks prego, (desprate for this baby to come out) - and I've never drank coffee throughout the pregnancy. If I drank coffee now, will that cause contractions? If so, How much cups should I drink?

A. I don't think coffee will do it. Try having sex, walking, bouncing on a birthing ball, i have also heard the pineapple works. I did sit ups(with hubby's help) and my water broke after about 10 min. I only did about 5 sit ups. Good Luck.
