Q. Wnat to reduce the risks of having ganother trisomy 18 pregnancy . Any advice would be helpful.
A. It's a genetic disorder honey, there are no meds or vits you can take to prevent it.
What are good foods for you to eat during pregnancy and not so good foods?
Q. I'm in my parenting class, and we're supposed to search foods not to eat and foods to eat during pregnancy, any advice?:)
A. Soft cheeses because of the risk of listeriosis (mozzarella, feta, bleu cheese, brie, etc.) unless they are heated to melting; deli meats unless heated until steaming (for the same reason as the cheeses); liver/pate because it is too high in Vitamin A; bacon and hot dogs because they are too high in nitrates; some fish (like shark and swordfish) because they are too high in mercury; raw or undercooked meats and raw or undercooked eggs because of multiple types of bacteria (raw eggs pop up in strange places, like eggnog, so check the ingredient lists); coffee/soda/caffeinated teas because of the caffeine (one cup a day is usually okay); anything made with unpasteurized milk (anything made with Grade A milk IS pasteurized, by the way); unwashed vegetables or fruits; uncooked foods like sushi or smoked meats; alcohol; herbs (small amounts used in cooking are OK); and some say peanuts because of the allergy risk, but that's still controversial.
Has anyone had an ectopic pregnancy? If so what were the symptoms?
Q. I am 4 weeks preg and have been experiencing mild cramping but no bleeding. I will see my doc on monday but im scared that it may be an ectopic pregnancy? Any advice.
A. For me it was very painful, not like cramping painful more like ruptured organ painful. It hurt more when I was moving around and the pain radiated toward my shoulder. It was located more on the left side but was present on the right as well. The pain responded to pain medication but it was very stupid of me to use pain meds instead of seeing a Dr.
Do you mean you are 4 weeks pregnant from the first day of your last period or 4 weeks pregnant from the time of conception? If you are counting from your last period you are most likely experiencing normal pregnancy symptoms but if you are counting from the date of conception you may be experiencing pain from an ectopic pregnancy. Counting from your last cycle the embryo would only be two weeks old and not large enough to have caused a rupture yet. Monitor the pain closely and if it gets worse go to the emergency room, if it is ectopic and it ruptures you have very little time to get into an operating room before you bleed out.

Is smoking during the 1-2nd weeks of pregnancy bad? Like does it do any harm to my baby?
Q. I think I might be pregnant and I know I should quit until I find out and I was just wondering if smoking does harm or gives defects to your baby during really early pregnancy. Stories? Advice?
A. YES it affects your baby at any stage, it says so right on the label...low birth weight, preterm labor, underdeveloped organs, etc. My cousins baby had most of these plus suffers from infant seizures. Do you want to risk it? Just give up the cigs until you find out. Maybe even if you are not preg you may decide to stop completely anyways. good luck.
