Whats the difference between online conception date calculators and..?
Q. The little wheels doctors have in their offices to figure out conception? I dont see much of a difference other than the fact you can adjust your cycle length with the online calculator, I would think that would make much more of a difference in accuracy? Than the doctors wheels..
A. I beleive its exactly the same.
Maybe off my a day or two.
I used the online calculators at the beginning of my pregnancy just to find my due date before I'd seen a doctor.
After my first doctors appointment my due date was the same

When pregnant, do the weeks pregnant actually start at the beginning of your last period?
Q. Meaning, if I'm 8 weeks pregnant, that really means conception occurred about 6 weeks ago but you're counting from your period date?
A. Yes pregnancy is counted from the start of your last period! This being becasue it is to unpredictable to say when you ovulated and when conception occurred! That is an estimate of 6 weeks ago for conception because it could just as likely have occurred 5 weeks ago! I wouldn't worry about when baby was conceived and concentrate on things like due date and how far along you are at this point! You should be seeing an OB/GYN in the next few weeks for your important first appointment! Here is some cool sites on pregnancy that I like and maybe you'll find them fun too! I also gave you a pregnancy due date calculator! Good luck!
what can be used to enhance spermatazoa motility?
Q. My husband and I are trying to concieve. One of our major issues is actually achieving conception, due to immobile spermatazoa. Please help. Anything all natural or over the counter.
A. You can try a product called Proxeed but there is no way of knowing whether or not it will do anything. Did you know the main cause of poor motility is heat? So, if your hubby wears tidy whiteys, it is time for him to switch to boxers. Also, if he has a job that requires a lot of sitting, he needs to get up and move more frequently so that the area cools off since sitting keeps it warm. The other cause is long periods of time without having sex.
For both of you, these are the usual tips given when trying to conceive:
1. Do limit movement after intercourse. Stay lying down with a pillow under your hips for a half hour.
2. Do try to make sex enjoyable. More enjoyable sex means higher sperm count and better swimmers.
3. Limit intercourse and male m@sturbation prior to the days you are trying to conceive.
4. Take vitamins. Folic acid and other vitamins are very important.
5. Dont drink alcohol or use drugs at the time of conception. This applies to both of you. There is strong evidence that alcohol can effect your chances of getting pregnant.
6. Dont douche after having intercourse.
7. Dont have oral sex prior to intercourse. There is some evidence that the bacteria in the mouth can cause damage to male sperm.
There are only a few true ways to determine ovulation:
1. get a basal thermometer (bbt) and plot your temp daily
2. there are OTC kits to check if you are ovulating
3. check your vaginal mucus daily
For the basal thermometer:
You take your temp daily...as soon as you wake up and before you get out of bed. You take it for a full 5 minutes. The day your temp is the highest is the day of ovulation. For more info:

For mucus check:
At time of ovulation, mucus resembles egg whites: it will be thin, clear, generous in amount and stringy when pulled apart. To learn more about it: http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/cervical-mucus.html
This site may also help. It provides an ovulation calculator to help you determine your fertile times: http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/gettingpregnant/l/blcalovulate.htm
The ways to improve sperm count:
1. no tidy whiteys! wear only boxers
2. if he has a job that requires a lot of sitting, take more breaks to stand up
3. no alcohol
4. no masturbation
5. avoid hot baths
6. no smoking or recreational drugs
7. take antii-oxident vitamins
8. no caffeine
9. save intercourse for the time of ovulation
10. make love in the morning...more sperm is produced during the night and man's sexual peak is in the morning
