Q. I know this is an odd question, but though I haven't gained any weight (lost in fact) in my pregnancy, my belly has started getting bigger (I think it's all baby in fact). I have noticed here lately that it is getting very very uncomfortable in the shower or in the tub. I usually shave with one leg above in the sink, but even that is starting to hurt a little because it is putting pressure on my belly. I would ask my hubby, but with the way he shaves and cuts himself, I am afraid that he would do the same. He just gets in too much of a hurry. Do you have any alternatives? Do you think that the shaveless hair remover would be dangerous to use? I do not use it because the fumes they carry and feel like it is better safe than put my baby at risk. I am putting this in the pregnancy section because I am sure most pregnant women have gone through this and they might have a solution.
Just so you know, I am 18 weeks pregnant and I have only just recently started having this problem.

A. I used the 3 min Nair stuff I put it on while conditioning my hair then rinsed it off it worked pretty well.
What is a chemical pregnancy and how does it work?
Q. I took an at home pregnancy test last week and tested positive, but then had my period a few days later. I would have conceived between September 20th and 24th, and my period came 6 days ago. I started reading up on this and found a lot of questions about chemical pregnancies. How do they happen? And how long will the pregnancy hormone stay in my system if the egg has already been flushed out? I can't get into my gyno until next week and I need to know what's going on now.
A. A "chemical pregnancy" is just another term for an early miscarriage. Many times this happens without the woman even knowing she is pregnant. Usually the reason for this is because of abnormalities with the developing fetus or due to the embryo not implanting properly within the womb lining itself.
Your doctor will probably advise you to wait for 2 - 3 months before trying again to conceive as it can take a while for your hormone level to return to its normal level. Usually it takes longer if you miscarry further along. So given the fact that you were only a few weeks along it should only be a week or two.
Try not to worry.... it is perfectly normal and happens more often than a lot of people realise as it often occurs very early on after conception and most people assume it is their period but a little late. I have had this happen myself and have gone on to have a perfectly healthy baby since then so it does not mean that anything is wrong with you.
Hope this helps and good luck =)

How would your god punish me for goofing off during the last 10 minutes of work?

A. To avoid harsh punishment for these kinds of misdemeanours, BR, you must take up regular worship of some deity who's a wee bit on the lazy side itself.
The Mighty Slotho is a largely overlooked god these days, but a good one to have on your side if you're given to bouts of slovenly indolence - or even just "mucking about".
Hail Slotho!
PS: Spell Checker wanted me to call Slotho "Slot Ho" instead.
However, Slot Ho is an entirely different deity - dedicated to a different order of human activity altogether.

When will pregnancy tests start showing a negative even when you are pregnant?
Q. Just curious, i know at some point pregnant woman no longer affect a pregnancy test and when used it will show a negative, not a positive. About when does this occur in pregnancy?
A. It doesn't. During pregnancy a woman's body will always maintain a high enough level of HCG to indicate a positive on a pregnancy test. In fact, a woman's body still carries the pregnancy hormone for a few weeks after birth and will show positive on a pregnancy test for up to 8 weeks after delivery until her body processes out all of the HCG.
