what are the risks of having bi polar well pregnant and after?

Q. i have bi polar and my doctors have told me that i will probably have post pardom depression? will i? what else can happin because of it? what meds can i take? i wanted to have a drug free pregnancy but what percentage of a chance i will need meds after to control myself and keep it under control. the last 3 months of my pregnancy i have had severe depression and alot of stress... does that play a fact about anything?

A. First of all bi-polar and other such terms are just words to try to describe mood swings and so don't let yourself be defined and limited to a word, you are so much more than that.
It is very common in our society to be on some kind of medication, and many mothers have wonderful successful pregnacies and are fantastic after the arrival of their child without a hitch.
So post=partum depression might or might not happen, and the future is not here yet. If you do have it there are plenty of solutions so never worry, everything will be fine.
Just release the stress that doctors put on you, it is not a part of today, and is not necessarily a fact, so just let this worry go.
Enjoy the balance of your life and focus on what you can do to make this easy when you are further along and do not feel like cooking or doing much.
This would be a good time to do some spring cleaning, and make some home made nutritious diners for the freezer. Also keep exercising and write in a journal, your child will love reading it when they are older.
You might want to put a little story book together with bright colourful pictures from magazines, or a family photo and keepsake album...use this time to enjoy your good fortune and don't worry about something that might or might not happen.
Stay in the moment...enjoy today.

Ladies do you know any websites i can go to?
Q. I'm looking for like some free pregnancy magazines things to go along with that etc.

A. U could try Club Mom.com and overlarge.com. BTW - Congratulations! Hope everything goes well for u and ur baby! Peace out!

Where can I find some good pregnancy magazines for free?
Q. I'm 17 and preg. I read a lot of baby books but would like to know the latest news without all the tricky trial mags. I already have American Baby. Anybody know any new ones?

A. Baby Talk is free...google it =)

What should I expect when to feel later in my pregnancy?
Q. Im 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Im only 18 and I barely know anything about being pregnant... I was wondering what I should expect later on through my pregnancy... This might sound like a stupid question but im scared and my mother isnt being supportive. I just want to do things right and make sure my baby comes into the world healthy. So any help and tips would be amazing (:

A. Do you have your OB appointment scheduled and are you taking prenatal vitamins?

Anyway, I got really great information when I signed up (for free) at www.planningfamily.com because they give informative articles about what to expect each week of your pregnancy as well as a sign up for free things - like a subscription to American Baby magazine, which I love and highly recommend. www.babycenter.com is another great resource.

Usually the tired and nausea feeling goes away at 11 - 13 weeks.
You can feel the baby kick between 16 - 22 weeks, which at first feels really soft, like fluttering and then becomes more painful the stronger the baby gets. You can also find out the gender at that time.
During your third trimester, you should avoid long car rides and make short, daily walks a priority to prevent swelling in your feet and to keep your energy up. It's very normal to have trouble sleeping at night and I recommend a pregnancy or full body pillow. Also, you'll probably feel 'practice contractions' or Braxton Hicks during this time, which is where your belly gets really, really tight and for me it felt like I was coming down a big hill on a roller coaster - not painful, just floating and weird, then it goes away. The real one's feel like intense period cramps.

You want to avoid drinking soda and eating fish that are high in Mercury (tuna is off limits). Salmon is recommended and very beneficial for baby's brain development.
