Heart rate during exercise while pregnant?

Q. I'm 21 weeks pregnant. Before pregnancy I exercised somewhat regularly. I just started back at the gym as the Dr had exercise off limits for a little while. I was told to not exceed 140 beats/min but a few times I was at 155. Was that harmful to baby or is it ok as long as you don't stay at that rate?

A. Don't stress about it hon. Your heart rate being up that high for a couple minutes wouldn't have harmed the baby. Your heart rate would have to stay up very high for a long time before it would possibly hurt the baby. my doctor always told me if i did go over 140, not to do it for more than 20 minutes tho. he said a little bit wouldn't hurt. so i don't think you need to worry about your few minutes. i exercised all the time when i was pregnant. and my heart rate sometimes jumped up higher than it should have, and babies are both fine.

good luck.

What is the relationship between body size before pregnancy and when someone starts to show?
Q. I am 27 years old. 5'0 and 102 lbs. I am currently 7 1/2 weeks pregnant. I was wondering... does anyone know: if someone is "petite" like me, when do they normally start to show?
This is my first pregnancy, I exercise, and am pretty good shape. I have just heard people say that when someone has more weight on, before the pregnancy- they may show earlier.....
I am flying up to see family in August and wondered if I may show then?
I will be 16 weeks at that point (4 months).
Thanks!!!

A. I don't know that there's any sure way to predict. I've seen women of all different body types show all sorts of different ways...and just when you think you've got one person figured out - their next pregnancy is totally different.

I will offer one suspicion I have though - I think that women with shorter torsos show more, faster. That's just because with less room between the ribs and hips the baby only has one direction to grow - and that's out.

What are some great ways to stay fit during pregnancy regarding exercise?
Q. I haven't exercised all that good during and before my pregnancy. I was hoping you guys can tell me about some safe and useful exercises during pregnancy? Currently 17 weeks and 5 days pregnant (:

A. Walking. Walk walk walk walk.

You should be getting in 10,000 steps in a day.

What are da chances of getting pregnant without being on the pill or not using Plan B after unprotected sex?
Q. So I had unprotected sex with my bf for a couple days in a row. My intention was to get Plan B since I am not on the pill. However, I was unable to get the Plan B and I was wondering how high are the chances of me getting pregnant? And if so, is there any thing I can do now to prevent a pregnancy? Like exercising a lot?

A. There is always a chance even if you are on your period but some times are more likley if you period is due aprox 14 or around that from the unprotected sex the odds are high if your peroid is late take a pregnancy test if it is negative get on a for =m of birth control so your not in this place again.
