Q. I'm 15 and I think I may be pregnant, but I'm not sure. I live in Wisconsin and I was wondering if I could go to the hospital and get a pregnancy blood test without parental consent? I can't have my parents knowing. No "you shouldn't be having sex at that age" stuff please. And I have only had sex with this one guy and the same for him.. So no STDs here.
A. I am pretty sure that only applies to abortion in wisconsin. You could also just buy an over the counter test at the drug store and avoid that all together.
EDIT---- & Jane you a moron for talking down to a young girl. Damn have a little respect.
I'm sure you have NEVER made a mistake right? No of course not because you must be so perfect. Yeah she needs to face up to her responsibilities but does that mean you have any right to talk down to her? Who are you to judge? Frankly your opinion does not mean sh*t to me. Everyone in life makes mistakes and has to learn from them. Sitting here blatantly trying to make her feel horrible is not going to make the situation any better...although for people like you who obviously think you are better than everyone else well I see why that would make YOU feel better. She didn't come here to ask to be bashed for her choices she obviously knows where her choices have led her. It's called a life lesson.

how long does it take for a pregnancy blood test to come back from the doctor?
Q. Say if i go for a pregnancy blood test on saturday when will i hear the results and how will they call me?
also how accurate would you say they are?
thanks.
also how accurate would you say they are?
thanks.
A. Depends upon whether the doctor has his own lab to do the test, or if he sends the blood out to a lab to get the test done, as well as if the lab is open on a Saturday.
With our RE, they had testing facilities (that either they owned, or a partner lab in the same building). If you had blood drawn before 10am, you found out the results before the end of the day. If blood was drawn after 10, you found out the results the next day.
With the OB/GYN, he sends the tests out and you never find out until the next business day.
As to accuracy, with the exception of major screwups by the lab (i.e. RARE), the blood test will always be accurate at determining how much pregnancy hormone is in your system. Beyond that, the results can be open to interpretation. For example, if you get a count of 15, that means there is some HCG pregnancy hormone in your system, but that's neither a positive or a negative (below 5 is negative, above 25 is positive). You might be testing early and HCG levels will soon be in the "positive" range, or you might have suffered a miscarriage and the HCG levels are dropping.
But for MOST women getting a blood test, they will usually fall below the 5 mark or above the 25 mark.

Can a pregnancy blood test detect if you are pregnant if you are having your period?
Q. I'm thinking about getting a pregnancy blood test for several reasons. Well for 1 I'm hearing from several women that you can have a period or what they call (Vaginal Bleeding) while pregnant up until 5 sometimes the whole 9 months. 2nd my older sister and 2 friends of mine have experienced this. 3rd for the last 3-4 months I have been having 2 and 3 day periods when they normally last 4-5 days. I know things change with your cycle but I need advice.
PS. Me and my Husband are not using protection either

Can a minor get a pregnancy blood test done in texas?
Q. if i minor needed a pregnancy blood test done is there anyway they wouldnt have to use their insurance they could just pay for it or possibly get one free? would the parents of the minor be notified?
A. The minor can purchase a urine test at a drug store. There is no minimum age or prescription necessary. The minor could also visit a women's clinic or pregnancy crisis center - but depending on the child's age the center could have an obligation to disclose sexual conduct. Not seeing why a blood test is needed - a urine test from Walmart is fine.
