do pregnancy stretch marks look the same as growth spurt ones?

Q. I have a bunch of stretch marks on my hips and chest I guess from when I hit puberty and grew alot 10 years ago.

If/when I get pregnancy stretch marks, will they eventually look exactly like the stretch marks I currently have? Cause if so, I can stop worrying about getting them, I dont mind the ones I already have at all.

A. Mine don't yet, but they're on their way. Stretch marks are all caused the same way--a growth spurt that is too fast for you to keep up with basically, in layman's terms. It has something to do with the elastin, etc., in your skin. But your growth spurt stretch marks were caused because you grew really fast--and the pregnancy ones are caused the same way!

How do you make pregnancy stretch marks fade?
Q. I thought that I would make it through this pregnancy without stretch marks, low and behold in my last month they all appeared. I know there is not 100% fix to stretch marks, but how do I at the very least make them less noticeable after I give birth?

A. Put lotion on religiously EVERYDAY LOTS OF TIMES !!! itll help the skin from departing more

What are some ways to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy?
Q. Does anyone have any good recommendations of brands of stretch mark cream or other methods to prevent pregnancy stretch marks? I'm only 5 weeks but I want to get a jump on it before they show up.

A. There is really no way to prevent them, if your Mom got them, you most likely will too. I used cocoa butter & an Avon stretch mark cream every day.. and still got them lol :) Oh well!

What is an inexpensive way to get rid of stretch marks?
Q. Any over the counter drugs recommended? I don't have pregnancy stretch marks but I have them on other places of my body. I'm wondering if that Mederma for stretch marks works. I know they came out with a new one specifically for stretch marks but I'm not sure if it actually works. And even where to get it. Need help please!
*I mean creams/gels that are NOT over the counter, sorry.

A. You can get Mederma at a regular grocery store or pharmacy how ever it is pretty expensive. I dont know how much you are willing to spend but the best bet for good results that is really cheap is coco butter. You can get it in a stick or in a tub and I personally feel that it smells awesome but some people dislike the scent. It works really well because it moisturizes the skin and fades the stretch marks. Mederma essentially works the same way but it is a thinner liquid and smells kind of plastic like and feels odd going on. Also the tube runs out fairly quickly. I would try coco butter first then move to Mederma if you don't like the results.
