Q. I am 32 Weeks pregnant and everyone has been asking when I am going to do pictures, but I am barely showing. my doctor said it's the way I am carrying but I just feel like I look fat not pregnant. I think pregnancy pictures are cute when someone has a big belly, not a little one....right?

A. I had pregnancy pictures done with my daughter. I used a photographer I had modeled with in the past and he did two sets, the first set was ok, but kind of cheesy. They were the ones you usually see in ads, hands in a heart over the belly, etc. The second set was fantastic. They were a set of art nude bodyscapes and I treasure them. At first I was a little apprehensive (I, like you, felt fat, not pregnant), but they photos were amazing.
I know this isn't in everyone's comfort zone, but it was well worth it for me and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Q. I have friends asking me to take their pregnancy pictures. I have a Fuji Finepix S700. I am able to attach 46mm lens or filters to it. I am looking to do either glamour shot style or magazine style portraits. Sorry if this has been asked before but I could not find an answer anywhere!

A. Portrait lenses are usually a bit longer ... 75mm to 105mm. The longer length helps create a smaller depth of field...meaning that the person will be in focus, while the subject is in focus. Additionally a wider aperature f/4 or less will help decrease depth of field.

A. You should be able to find some black yardage on the $1 table at places like Wal-Mart. Buy four yards and attach it to a wall.

Using one 500 watt worklight, your daddy can light you from the side and get great shots of your tummy

Make sure you stand at least three feet away from the background and all the other lights are turned off during the shot.

It may be necessary to block one side of the lamp to keep its light from falling on the background.

Make sure your dad sets the white balance to incandescent.

A. If these are images you can do this in photoshop, gimp etc using opacity.
If they are ultarsound images (x-rays) they need to be scanned to images or aligned in front of a bright light

Mommy and baby Photos is this the average cost?

Q. I want to get Maternity photos and the place I found does a package, you get pregnancy pictures and then your newborn photos for 650.00 is this about the average photo cost??
The cost includes the maternity photos, newborn and 3 milestone photos, meaning when they start to crawl or walk or what have you. so its a years worth of photos for one price.

A. Yes, it cost about that much I think. I got a photographer for my welcome home "mommy & baby" party. cost me $500 for 150 photos. But you know something my daughter is 11 months in a few days and I take a lot of pictures and most of them are better than the one were taken by the photographer. And I am not a PRO.
